The Dentists (DDS) – The First Six Weeks of School

Album #: 33

Recording Dates: 2001

Release Date: 2001

Catalog: SMR19

ScratchNotes:

The Dentists (aka DDS) were a Sheep Fiends offshoot project that lasted just a few months. This is the first of two collections based on recordings of DDS rehearsals. The band apparently specialized in ridiculous cover songs but also managed to work out a few originals. File Under: Not Very Serious.

Three Track Sampler

Track 03 – Diane (The Dentists) – Certainly the most straight forward cover song on the album, the Dentists tackle a Husker Du classic that I’d never even heard at the time we recorded this.  [Scratch on Guitar]

Track 08 – Dougsong (The Dentists) – This is an original by DDS – still in development but that’s about as far as we got with anything…  [Scratch on Bass and Keyboard]

Track 08 – Born to be Wild (The Dentists) – Just because I don’t know how to play “Born to be Wild” doesn’t mean I’m not going to play “Born to be Wild”!  [Scratch on Vocals and Guitar]
